Principal's Welcome
Welcome to Carlow Vocational School. Whether you are about to start your First Year of post primary school, or joining our Transition Year or Senior Cycle, we are delighted to tell you about the many exciting opportunities that are available to you at Carlow Vocational School. Choosing a school is of course a very important decision, but it is often hard to decide which might be the right place for you. Our website and prospectus aims to help your decision-making by providing you with a snapshot of what it is like to be part of the CarlowVocational School community. We hope that you will visit and experience life at our school for yourself.
At Carlow Vocational School, we aim to ensure that our students are equipped with personal skills and qualities as well as academic qualifcations to meet the challenges of today’s world, and to progress into adulthood with a sense of purpose, happiness and vocation. Education is about more than the acquisition of knowledge and qualifcations - it also includes the personal growth and development of each individual.
The success of any school depends ultimately on the quality and experience of the staf and we are proud of the excellent staf at our school. Students and parents can be assured that all at Carlow Vocational School are fully dedicated to the education and welfare of all the children in our care.
We want you to be happy while learning in an atmosphere of friendship and respect. We acknowledge the primary role of parents/guardians in the education of their children and always maintain a close relationship with your parents/carers through the Parents’ Association, the Home School Liaison Ofcer and parent-teacher meetings. In addition parents/guardians are always welcome to visit the school to discuss your progress.
In reading this prospectus/website, I hope you enjoy learning about Carlow Vocational School and we look forward to welcoming you in person. Make sure that you take the opportunity to experience life at our school through our Open Evenings and Saturday Clubs. You are welcome to arrange an individual visit by calling us directly.
We look forward to meeting you
